Food is also a major challenge in families of the children we care for and in other homesteads that are at the village. Families have one meal in day and others who do not have food resort to eating fruits like Mangoes and Jack fruit and call it a day.

When it comes to providing food items as one of our donation programs, we members at Hope for Orphans Organization-Luuka fund raise among ourselves at every end of month as we also look out for donors to support us in this project and buy food and distribute it to families of the 15 orphans.

We also lobby support from local leaders and if all fails for families to have food, most guardians send their children to work in sugarcane plantations in order to get money to buy some little food to feed the rest of the children.

Our organization highly condemns child labour and that’s why we encourage children not to work in sugarcane plantations but promise to provide food to them within our reach.

We are also working out plans to establish income generation activities like Poultry, Cattle keeping, Agriculture and Goat rearing among others to sustain the Orphans and other vulnerable children. We already kick started the goat project. The organization has eight goats and it will be a revolving project where each orphan will be entitled to get one goat after delivery.
