Our Vision
To create a self-sustaining generation of children/ adults and to create a God-fearing new generation
Our Mission
Empowering orphaned children and the youth out of social marginalization/ isolation and discrimination, through income generative, and for education and sharing God’s love.
WE BELIEVE the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative word of God.
WE BELIEVE that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son Holy Spirit.
WE BELIEVE in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His Virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
WE BELIEVE that for the salvation of the lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
WE BELIEVE in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
WE BELIEVE in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
WE BELIEVE in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ
BACKGROUND:
Being a freelance Photo Journalist at Vision Group in Uganda (The New vision Printing and Publishing Company), in 2016 Tumbya Tonny profiled the plight of four orphaned children from the Magambo family on Bukedde Television, a local television in Uganda. The children were making bricks at Namalemba village, Bulongo sub county in Luuka district in order to sell them, get money and buy scholastic materials and also be able to pay for their school fees. The four children lost their father who succumbed to the Ebola epidemic years ago. The children had been missing classes due to lack of necessary requirements and school fees.
It was on this note that Tonny generated the idea of establishing an organization following his heart for those in poverty since childhood. We have kept on increasing the number of orphaned children from 4 to 24 who are being identified with the help of our team and the local leaders.
Today, we are working as a team of volunteers and together we managed to form an Executive Committee that manages the activities of the Organization. The Organization is registered with the government of Uganda as a Community Based Organization (CBO), with registration number: 1010/2017 issued on January 31st, 2017 at Luuka district headquarters by the District Community Development Officer.
In April of 2022, Hope for Orphans Organization Luuka changed its name to Gonza House Ministries through the Luuka district local government. The ministry continues to operate as a Community Based Organization (CBO) under the new name of Gonza House Ministries.

COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Does a portion of my sponsor fees get taken before it is used for my sponsor child?
No. We do not take any money from the donations unless it is specified to do so.
Why are the children wearing clothes commonly worn in the US?
The US actually imports mass amounts of used clothing to Uganda every year. Most of our clothes are bought second hand from flea market type vendors at relatively similar prices as to that of second hand stores in the US. We do keep clothes at the orphanage and try to help our children to look and feel their best for special occasions. Many of our sponsor families send money
Do sponsors typically contribute more than the monthly sponsor fee?
This really varies depending on the financial position of the sponsor/sponsor family. Some send for things such as clothes, birthday celebrations, hair care for the girls who wish to keep their hair, footwear, blankets, beds etc. You are certainly not expected to send for these things but are more than welcome to ask us what your child is in need of.
What does my sponsor fee pay for?
Your sponsor fee secures education and food and medical while the children are at school. It does not cover the meals and such at the center though.
How can I know specifically what my sponsor child needs?
Please always feel welcome to ask us, we will not be burdened by your questions. Our life’s work is dedicated to these children!
How are the children able to enjoy things such as candies or soda or celebrations?
We have been very blessed to provide things for the children that they wouldn’t otherwise have or experience through specific donations to do so. Many sponsors will request that the children get a sweet treat for a special event/birthday/holiday. In a community that is surrounded by poverty we understand that these things may seem unnecessary. However, we are grateful to provide these children with things that bring them hope and joy so they can be even more motivated to work towards a better future for themselves and their communities.
How can I know what the center is in need of most?
We don’t yet have a system in place to keep this updated, please ask if you find yourself in question of this. Otherwise, we do usually share through Facebook if there is a dire need for something or a food shortage. Currently we are in need of mostly funds for the office that is now required by the government to build, you can find more information about this on the weekly blog below.
