New School Year Begins:
The new school year began again towards the end of January. The students happily began the new semester. Our loyal sponsors have once again allowed their sponsored children’s lives to be transformed with a quality education. Our loyal sponsors provide tuition and funding for school supplies. Without this, none of these children would be able to attend the schools that they do. All children are happy to be learning new things at a higher grades respectively. In Uganda, we have three school terms. Each one lasts for three years and have a one month break off after every semester.
Vocational Training:
Another of our older children has been blessed with the opportunity to learn a career skill through vocational training. Our children without sponsors are not able to attend school and for our older children without sponsors, this makes their future very uncertain. Peruth was one of these older children. She had to stop attending school last year when she lost her sponsor.
Babirye Peruth, has been a member of Gonza House Ministries for years. She lives with her single family near the orphanage. Her widowed mother is a peasant farmer who help on people’s farm to get daily food. Peruth expressed a desire to learn a skill, “I would love learning new skills. I strongly believe that new skills can not only help my personal development but will also help me find ways to be financially independent.”
New sponsors:
We are happy to inform you that we have another new sponsor family at Gonza house! They are sponsoring two of our girls, Winnie Managwe and Shana Maria. We are so incredible thankful for the difference this will make in these two young girl’s lives.
However, we need more sponsors for the rest of the children! Their pictures and some information is found on our website. If anyone knows of caring individuals who would be willing to step up to this gratifying task, please direct them to us. It is sponsorship that allows are children access to education and a future outside of poverty.
Future Goals for the Orphanage:
We are hoping to save the money for our Emergency Fund that will help with any unforeseen expenses or medical emergencies. We want to make sure that we can handle any emergency concerning our children, such as children getting ill and needing medical attention or any other emergencies. We desire to eradicate this problem entirely.
Additionally, we want to start our poultry project. We have a target of purchasing 2000 laying chickens in 18 months. We have already begun by ordering 460 chicks with the help of our generous friends. This will help us generate income for easy running of the ministry. We shall use these chickens for their eggs and emotional support for the children. It will also help us raise a self sustaining new generation after our kids learn this farming skill This will as well help us raise these kids in a healthy environment where they can enjoy being just kids without worry about basic needs. We thank our dear friends who enabled us to start this poultry project.
Another goal is finishing our restrooms (toilets) at the ministry. As well all know toilets are a must have necessities in a health home. We need $800 to have our first toilets with running water.
Social Media use for Gonza House:
As we continue to serve God our Lord this year, we have maintained our presence on social media platforms. This continues mostly on Facebook. We make daily posts on Facebook to keep our information going out to the public. We are considering creating more accounts on other media platforms like Instagram and X (twitter) so that we can expand the knowledge and information about this ministry to new supporters. If you would like to follow us on Facebook, you can find us here: https://www.facebook.com/GonzaHouse
Easter:
Easter is coming up very soon. Children and all of us are so excited. We would like to make it a special day for everyone at Gonza House! Fun is part of childhood. So, our children will celebrate Easter with buns and an Easter egg hunt. It is also our wish that they sit down to three healthy meals on Easter Sunday … and every other day Thank you for being willing to reach out to our family of neglected, abandoned and vulnerable ones. Your support really does mean everything. May you enjoy a blessed Easter with your own family and loved ones!
Gratitude:
We would like to thank each and everyone of our sponsors, donors and supporters! We wouldn’t have been able to transform the lives of the orphan children without you all who give so much to help the children! We want to let all donors, new and older, as well as the sponsors who time and again step up and provide funds for the children, know that we appreciate you! THANK YOU FOR BEING GOD’S HANDS. We continually pray for God’s rich blessings on you all!
