Deuteronomy 7:9
“Know therefore that the Lord thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;”
On a cold and Cloudy day of May 1, 2021, we organized a Bible Dinner for the children, their guardians and HOOL team at the orphanage.
The aim of the Bible dinner as one of the activities of the organization is to bring the orphans closer to God and to also lure them to love God and express his love to their neighbors as written in the Holly Bible. The Godly gathering started with opening prayer from one of the HOOL volunteers (Becky) who appreciated God for enabling everyone to show up and also being part of the bible study. She farther asked God for his guidance through the whole session.
After introductions and saying an opening prayer, a one-hour praise to the Lord followed which saw sing praising songs to the Almighty Lord. Oh, praise God!!
Presentation.
This was done by Peace (HOOL Volunteer) who gave the first reading from Mathiew 7:7-9 the children’s Bible verse. Reading was done by one of the guardians Ms Mukuta Peruth, after reading Peace added Mark 11:24 emphasizing people to believe they leave prayer room with answer. She later turned to the Book of Genesis 25 and 27 which clearly led to the Bible dinner them “children Upbringing” as two parents of twins Jacob and Esau, Isaac and Rebecca respectively had different characters and behavior in their upbringing.
Lessons Learnt
These lessons were delivered from the presentation and verses shared of Mathiew 7:7-9, Mark 11:24 and Genesis 25 and 27. Among the lessons shared by the participants include not being one sided as parents but always treating and loving their children equally, instilling faith and fear of God children. However, two of the guardians one Namutebi Martha and Nabirye Margarette expanded the message by quoting and reading books of Job 28:28 and proverbs 1:8. Guiding children through conversations on what to do and blessing children, training their children about forgiveness and love to reign at home.

Directors speech
Director Eddy,
Appreciated everyone for coming through and also gave a testimony of God’s goodness to his family (him and wife) and how they both prayed for a long time to have a baby and indeed God later answered their prayer out of patience and faith by blessing them with a daughter baby Abby.
He also commented of the gathering theme children’s upbringing and put emphasis on engaging children in prayer hence laying a good foundation of faith in children. “If a child is brought up with fear of God, faith and taught well how to pray the path to the child’s future is brightened.
Director Tonny,
He appreciated everyone for honoring the invitation to the Bible study. He goes on by sharing two testimonies One of the God’s healing after a very deadly tooth surgery in Jinja. He shared the story of how painful the whole process was before and after surgery, the endless headache and how the wound had developed infection but thanked God that was taken back for a review and the wound got treated and is happy God has enabled him to go through that difficult time and that recovery is on going smoothly.
Secondly, he testified of his silent prayer on the Bible dinner evening when it was threatening to rain hence disorganizing the long-awaited event but God answered his prayer immediately and rain disappeared……so gave all the glory and honor to God.
Lastly, the children led the closing phase of praise and worship with songs such as “Jangu yesu” and Omwoyo wa Mukama.”
Buy a Bible for a child!
Our children are finding Jesus as a savior and lord in the orphanage. But the directors do not have the funds to buy the Bibles for them. The Bible is our roadmap and is greatly needed in HOOL family. A $14.5 donation places a new children’s Bible into the hands of a child. So far, God has blessed us with 14 Bible and we are remaining with 26 children are left. Our next Bible is on 3rd of July 2021. We have been so far been blessed with two Bible, thank you our supporters. Keep donating towards this Godly plan. Thank you for giving HOOL kids their first Bible!
Isaiah 1:17
