July 2019 at HOOL

As the end of July approaches we have found our faith being put to test.  Our little Mpala has fallen ill with Malaria, Measles and a tumor in his chin/neck area.  The tumor is benign, thank God!   But it is difficult to see so much heartache around us all of the time.  Many people who follow our mission do not understand that suffering is something we have learned to live with on a daily basis.  Almost every day there is someone in need at our door that we cannot always help.  There are no words to describe this kind of struggle we live amongst here.

Just before taking Mpala in to get tested and receive treatment, our Director Tonny also fell ill with Malaria.  When we say our faith has been tested we do not say this lightly.  Life is truly difficult here.  But before having made this discovery Tonny had found a friend in need whose child was facing a medical emergency.  Upon giving his last dollars to help her not knowing what lied next for him, a generous and unexpected donation came in from our loving supporter Lea to assure Tonny could also receive treatment -Thank you!  Our faith has been tested but it has conquered all doubts and restored us fully.  Praise God!

We have also added more children to our list of HOOL beneficiaries.  Nakato and Babirye are in a desperate situation and in need of help as soon as possible.  We trust in God to provide for these children and ask your continued prayers for their widowed Grandmother and all of the children under her care.

Sponsor Children

Please also welcome Zaraha to HOOL, you can see her information on the link above as well!!

The children enjoyed  a weekend of writing letters for their sponsors and even posing for pictures for them, how sweet!

Mabiru Jessy shows off his Giraffe drawing proudly, he really enjoys being artistic and sharing his art with his sponsor family.

Beautiful Sharita and Esther trying on their new dresses from sponsor mom Ashley, thank you!

Please welcome new staff member, Jessica to HOOL.  Jessica has been staying with the children and helping with caring for them and cooking their meals.  She has been a blessing to us so much already!

We are also in need of requesting food donations once again for the center.  Something that has been brought to our attention that we have failed to clarify in the past is that our sponsor fees cover all care for the children but only while they are at school.  The sponsor fees do not account for any food or care that is needed/prepared for at the orphanage center.   If you are able to help with this it would be greatly appreciated.

Lastly, our office is nearing completion as well thanks to many donations that have continued to come in and assist us in the progression of this project.  Today we will be purchasing metal/iron sheets and continuing our work with this.  It is essential to our ability to continue helping these children that this gets finished, we are so grateful for every single person who has had a hand in seeing this through for us.  God Bless you!!
