Camp Green Agricultural Trip to Kampala

We would like to extend our greatest appreciation to our dear friend and HOOL supporter Lynette for sponsoring an agricultural training trip to Kampala.  Eddy and Kayima enjoyed visiting Camp Green and returning with additional knowledge as well as plants such as mango trees, onions and tomatoes.   The main cause of this trip was to learn how to grow food during the dry and rainy seasons since our crops have been so affected by sunshine during the dry spells.   We were advised to use organic manure to improve on the fertility of the soil and also to grow vegetables in sacks in order to maintain plants while using less water.   It was also suggested that we name our gardens after the children’s names as a way to encourage and motivate the children to improve on their own gardening skills as well.  This is important also for the future of these children’s lives.  Our hopes are to instill skills and knowledge that will last them a lifetime.  We thank you Lynette for your kind contribution to bettering the lives and futures of these children that we love so much.  This is what it truly means to make a difference.

Pictured in the blue dress is our little Fatina helping out in the gardens.  Here she is enjoying some time with her little sister Annisha who is still enjoying her new doll so much.  This makes our hearts so incredibly happy, their joy is a blessing to us all.
