Its time to swing…..!(Our first swing at the orphanage)

Swinging! Wheee! Children love to swing all over the world. Unfortunately, many kids in remote areas like Luuka, have never even seen a swing……!  


Swinging isn’t just “all fun and games.” Neuroscience reveals it promotes brain development, plus it stimulates the vestibular (inner ear), improves coordination, visual perception, muscular development, and proprioception (body awareness). Plus, it provides opportunities for socialization among the children. 
Uganda is a impoverished land-locked country. Uganda also the highest rate of orphans in the world – more than 9% of the population is parent-less due to AIDS, civil wars, and abandonment.  


Poverty forces Ugandan children to work incessantly. When we build swing sets, we give them a place to play. Swing sets also serve as “Kid Magnets” encouraging children to attend and at the orphanage centre. 
The swing sets cost $270 each. We have managed to install one so far which was donated to the kids by Ms.Ruiz, enough money to purchase the parts and install four swing sets. Our goal now is make sure we get the remaining 3 swings so that all our 24 children are able to benefit decently.
