About Peruth’s Birthday!
Few things in life are as momentous as the birth of a child. When a child comes into our lives, we cheer and hug them with joy. Our faces wet with joyful tears. And every year after, we celebrate the anniversary of the day our child entered the world with parties and gifts and birthday cakes. Birthdays are more than a silly tradition. And however we celebrate them, the fact that we do expresses to our children just how much we love them, and how grateful we are that they were born.
Every child deserves a birthday. Every child deserves to eat cake and open presents and have a whole day devoted to celebrating them.
But some children don’t have mothers and fathers and grandparents to throw them birthday parties. Others have loving families who wish they could do more on their children’s birthdays, but can barely afford to give them what they need every other day of the year.
At 7 years of age, Babirye Peruth just like her mom she had never never witnessed a birthday party in her life just like her mom. At first, her MOM Florence doubted it as they were informed by our publicity about the birthday party surprise for lovely girl. But all over a sudden, it came to pass. Praise God!!
A must to mention small yet emotional incidence happened during the occasion. When the big cake was unveiled , the Birthday Princess said “O my God, so this is what they call cake, hey why to cut it, it’s so colorful, please let me blow the candle, is it my birthday, it must be my first birthday” .her words and feelings made us all emotional and filled our eyes with tears.
However, here are some typical key ingredients or symbols of a birthday celebration and which we kept simple yet effective.
Cake
Well the size was apt for 40 kid and some few adults (although the target was just 25 persons) so that no kid will have to compromise on portion size. No special message, no quotes, no mentions; just a simple cake with name of our birthday princess. We chose a design in which cream was least used just to increase the size and to make it more convenient to serve.
Eatables
A plate of Rice and meat (Peruth’s favorite meal), 1 large piece of cake to every child. Believe us when we were serving, with each plate served we could easily see the excitement and joyful smiles. We chose different products of soda drinks and minute maid juice.
Today Peruth is 8yrs old and honestly it’s something to celebrate. But great to Peruth’s Sponsor who funded this wonderful birthday party. Hallelujah!!!
TO OUR LOVING GOD BE THE GLORY
