DIRECTORS REMARKS;

Tumbya Tonny.

Since last year began God has been faithful and indeed so good to me and the entire HOOL family. Recently I have been so ill with Covid-19. It was on 29th that I took the decision to go and test for Covid-19 after symptoms over whelmed me.

I started feeling weak with flu and cough before it advanced to fever and frequent sneezing a week before testing. This situation however worsened and so I decided to go and test. My brother and co-director had tested positive and had just healed from this monster disease. By the time I went for the test at Doctors hospital, Minani Health centre in Namalemba (30km) away from me, I felt ready for the results because I had overwhelming symptoms.

I could not smell or taste anything. I felt feverish and I was sneezing all the time so my results returned positive and I was not surprised. I only feared for the children. Dr Ali then gave me medication to take home including vitamin C and Azithromycin and I was also advised to buy pain killers as well as take warm water and a lot of fruits. The Dr encouraged me to do home treatment as I never developed breathing complications. He also promised to continue monitoring me from home and since that required some financial facilitation, it actually failed to work out.

Family support!

Receiving both physical and spiritual support from my family and friends from all walks of my life made me feel loved and gave me a lot of hope as I was in total pain. People like Rachael, Mindy and Leana have been so supportive financially and am so grateful for that. Without your support I would not have been able to get the vitamins, fruits etc I needed. Also, dozens of people prayed and some called me, but I couldn’t pick their calls due to pain and depression. But that concern and care kept me strong.

However, on behalf of the board, entire governance team and family of HOOL, I would like to extend our appreciation to our partners, for their continued spiritual inspiration moral and financial support, local government of Luuka district, spiritual leaders within and around the world for their unreserved support.

Tumbya Eddy!

I would like to give my thanks to God for our lives. He has been so merciful with us, who are we? My family (my daughter and my wife) the HOOL family etc. It is gratifying to see that HOOL ministry has yet taken a major stride as young organization to establish its self to deliver on its premises in the last years/months as well as contributing to the Uganda population. These last months have been filled with difficulties but we thank God that we keep on progressing regardless. Since its founding, HOOL has contributed to improved wellbeing of vulnerable children through core program areas which include care and support, Clean water, Health, Education, spiritual grooming and livelihoods in the last years/months.

Thank you everyone, we don’t take your love for granted. God bless

OUR MISSION

Empowering Other Vulnerable Children and the Youth out of social marginalization, isolation and discrimination through income generating initiatives and formal education with basic technical/vocational skills.

Archievemeants for the year 2020

Through the year 2020, HOOL ministry registered wonderful archievemenmts amidst difficult challengers attributed to the outbreak of the corona virus that led global into lockdown. The archivemenmts registered are in line with the different programareas.

Feeding!

Hool ministry distributed food worthy 1900kg of posho, 500kg of beans, 300kgs of rice, 100kgs of cooking old, 180kgs of sugar and 10 cartons of soap during lockdown in Uganda. On 18th of March 2020, the president of the Republic of Uganda made directions to close schools and the entire public as a measure to curb the rapid spread of Covid-19. There has always been in diet of the children as a result of water and some kind of irrigation at our farm so we are always able to feed the kids on greens, bananas(matooke), corn etc.

Health!

The ministry was in position to help little Ryan whose body was 95% burnt with boiling milk. With love and financial support from HOOL friends and well-wishers, Ryans ‘s life was saved and thank God is now able to walk and play.

Also, through one of our sponsor families we were able to purchase land where we are planning to build our hospital. We give all the glory to God. Continuous monthly home visits as hool team we sat and resolved to start this program in order to be able to monitor the health of the orphans and needy children who are under foster care.

Agriculture!

This sector never worked well as our chickens developed cannibalism which resulted into loss of over 100 chickens. As a result, we were forced to sell off all of them and install new ones. A month back God enabled us re-install 600 chicks which we are feeding and hoping to start collecting eggs in three months from now. However, our target is to install 1,500 chickens on the farm since we do have enough space where we can keep them and incase you feel concerned to help us achieve this huge dream feel free to message us.

Christmas party (2020)!

We had a beautiful celebration which brought unimaginable joy to our children and also reminded them that they are actually loved so much by everyone around the world.

School Program

We are so happy to report that we were able to complete our ever first school building and we look forward to naming the three class rooms on it after the people who have actually helped made it possible to have it complete. We are very grateful to our partners, friends and all well-wishers who supported that wonderful journey and still ask for more support to have the office and kitchen built too.

Continued Recommended strategies for this year.

1.Construction of family units to increase on the space for the children staying full time.

2.Construction of the health center for HOOL kids and the community

3.Completion of our school

4.We also plan to build a church for HOOL family and community

CURRENT NEEDS

* Need of new bedsheets for all the 15 children with each set or pair at 14$ (210$)

* Completion of the toilet which has few small things left to have it ready. It remains one of the biggest needs we have now and to have ready, 550$ is needed.

* School bags for home children and unsponsored ones since schools are most likely to resume soon. Total number of children 53 with each bag at 11.5$ (609.5$)

* There is also a great need of firewood in the orphanage, we use firewood to make daily meals for the kids. With food we still have some left to take us through this month though won’t be there any left by the beginning of the new month. We thank God that there is a family helping with food on a monthly basis. God bless them.

* Lastly any financial help towards our chickens/feeds is welcome. We are facing hardships with feeding them since they haven’t started giving eggs and will do in one months’ time from now.

Thank you,

Director. Tumbya Tonny
