May 2019 at HOOL

We have had some ups and downs at HOOL over the last couple weeks but alas it has been a blessed time for us.  We have been very busy with painting the orphanage which has been a long awaited project.  We have also dealt with some illnesses and and a roadside accident but we are very fortunate to be able to say that everyone is okay and well.  In fact, we have also been able to purchase clothing for our unsponsored children and even give a little help to some children who are not yet HOOL beneficiaries.  We are so blessed to be doing God’s work with so many people by our side helping to support these beautiful children.

A special thank you to Isaac Mubiru for giving his time so graciously to help with this as well and again of course to Sheri and Lea for their generous donations towards this project.

And of course Bella and Domino are enjoying their days as part of our HOOL family, they are so happy and loved!

Rebecca enjoying the little bunnies, they are growing up so fast and so fun to have around.

It is a common misconception that because of our clothing we are not actually living in a place consisting of great poverty.  Second-hand clothes from an array of developed countries actually dominate local market stalls in sub-Saharan Africa.  Globally the wholesale used clothing trade is valued at more than £2.8bn.  It is one of our main goals to be able to see our children dressed properly.  We understand that the value of feeling clean and proper reflects on how our children may view themselves and their futures.  We thank you so much Lea for helping us with this and also our gratitude to all of our sponsor families who help us provide for this as well.

Ian and Gift were excited to be off to school this week, joined by Tonny, Eddy and Brenda’s little sister Mercy.

There’s so many beautiful friendships happening all around us that we are so fortunate to be able to witness and be part of.  Not only are we blessed with wonderful children who are full of life and love we are equally blessed to have all of our sponsor families and helpers to share their precious lives with.  Many blessings to all of you, we thank you so much for your love and support.
