5.29.2019 Hello everyone!
Greetings from HOOL family. We really love you all and our best way to share this love is by sending you updates on whatever we are doing here. Below are the updates about our vegetable gardens that are doing very well thanks to the recently attended agricultural training…!
———————————————————————————————–
Whoopie Cushion fun with Rachael during her visit ~the kids and everyone enjoyed this so much!!
Sweet Annisha joined HOOL after the passing of her mother, it was quite a difficult adjustment time for her as she is only four years old. She is joined with her older sister Fatina who is also full time at the orphanage. Thankfully she has also been sponsored and is seeing some better days.
L to R Sheila, Salakiiya, Annisha and Fatina ~These girls are best of friends
Jessie has been full time at the orphanage for over one year now. He was abandoned by his mother after the death of his father. He was then run off by his grandfather and soon taken in at HOOL. Sadly this is a common scenario in rural Uganda because of so much poverty. Jessie is pictured below with his good friend Sharita. Sharita is currently in a foster home and in need of a sponsor as she has missed out on some important schooling.
We love to share photos any time the children receive new supplies and gifts. Sharing our excitement and love with you is so important. What may seem like simple things to most people are very special to the children who are living orphaned and in poverty.
These images make us feel so happy for our sweet boy Gift. He is pictured here with his sponsor mom Rachael and you can see so much joy she has brought to him for his birthday and during her stay. You can read more about Gift on the blog, his story has a rough start but we are sure to make it brighter with each passing day.
During Edward and Rachael’s visit to purchase the land, the children enjoyed the Zoo, Playground and Swimming pool for the very first time!! Seeing these children receive so much love and support was truly priceless and heroic. We can only hope that memories like this continue to be made for all of our children.
Peruth is one of our children who is full time at the orphanage. She is such a sweetheart and quite the helper with chores. She was blessed to have her very first birthday celebration in 2018 thanks to her sponsor and you can read more about her on further blog posts as well. She is a true joy to all of us!
This is our dear Cathy, if you look through our photos you will almost always find her with a beautiful joyous smile. Cathy lives in foster care under the care of HOOL. She is still in need of a loving sponsor parent/family to help her with her schooling in her future. An education for these children means everything, it means that they can have a future that does not include poverty.
Here you will see our little Namugabo Salakiiya helping to carry food during delivery to our struggling families and foster homes. It is not uncommon for impoverished families and elderly to seek help from HOOL. And any day that we are able to receive enough donations to provide is a blessed day.
Ian is always helping out in some way, he has been such a blessing to us all. You can find more about him on our sponsor children page and also find his kind face in our videos as well.
All of the children dream of having an education, for them it means beating poverty and having a better future.
Even small donations can go far for our children here at HOOL, thank you to sponsor mom Ashley!
Grandma Aidah is so special to us, if you are able to visit us you will be so happy to meet her. She has actually sacrificed her own garden goods in times that we did not have food available for all of our children in need.
Here you will see the children collecting water to do some washing, Sheila (purple/tan dress), Annisha (yellow/orange dress), Fatina (yellow shirt with stripes), Peruth (blue shirt), Jessie (blue/tan shirt).
These little ones have such a special bond and their friendship and laughter will fill your heart. We are continually amazed at how strong and resilient these beautiful children are.
Everyone who helps big and small are family to us all.
“It takes a village to raise a child.” ~African Proverb
Our chicken coop is complete! This has meant so much to us, so many thanks to Uncle Edward for all you do and making this dream come true. We will be sure to update you once we are able to fill it with chickens!
We are immensely grateful for our partnership with Launch Pad!!
With their continuous partnership, they hosted Uganda cultural night on 29th of March to help us raise funds for building a perimeter wall at the orphanage as one of safety measures for our children. May God bless each and everyone who participated and contributed towards this cause.
Little Jessie is such a good helper always!
Seeing animals starve is one Jessie's worst moments in life. So even today after school he helped cut grass and fed the cows….!

We would like to say a special thank you to our dear friend Laurie for purchasing these supplies for us. Up until now our children have been eating with their hands which is very common here. It will be a new adventure to watch them learn to use forks and spoons. Every tiny step towards a better life for them means so much to us.

Our friend Sheri has blessed us with PAINT ~ WOW!! Thank you so much for your continued support. We will make more updates on this amazing project as soon as we can.
Birthday Celebration new on the blog!!
Annisha is feeling a little better after her accident last weekend. She has stayed back from school because it has been painful for her to walk. She received a baby doll from her sponsor family in hopes to cheer her up. A little love really goes a long way for these children, what a blessing for poor Annisha.

Today we (Eddy, Tonny, Gift and Ian) were treated so well by our dear niece Madeleine Esther. Madeleine is the daughter of our staff member Rachael and from this family we have been so loved and blessed. Rachael has not only helped us in great ways already, she has also instilled the same passion and love in her own children. With gratitude in our hearts we call them our family too. We thank you for all the many ways you have lifted us up. May God Bless you always.

Every Home, Every Heart, Every Feeling, Every Moment of Happiness is incomplete without women. Iryne (mother to 3) has always been so loving to the orphans here….as HOOL family, we recently celebrated this special day for her and indeed its been a happy mothers day for her. God bless!
